Common Questions

Roofing FAQ

How long does a typical roof installation take?
+
Most residential replacements (1,500–3,000 sq ft) are completed in 1–2 days. Larger homes or complex roof geometries may require 3–4 days. We'll give you a specific timeline in your written estimate before any work begins.
Does PeakCraft handle insurance claims?
+
Yes. For storm damage, we document everything your adjuster needs, communicate directly with your insurance company if you'd like, and handle all paperwork from claim filing through completion. Our storm clients typically pay only their deductible.
What warranties do you offer?
+
All PeakCraft installations include a 10-year workmanship warranty in addition to manufacturer material warranties (25–50 years depending on product). As a GAF Master Elite contractor, we can also offer the GAF Golden Pledge warranty — among the strongest in the residential roofing industry.
Do you remove old shingles before installing new ones?
+
In most cases, yes — we perform a full teardown and decking inspection before any new material goes on. We avoid overlay installations (shingles over shingles) because they hide substrate problems, add excessive weight, and reduce the lifespan of the new roof. We'll document and explain the decking condition before covering it.
How soon can you start after I approve an estimate?
+
For repairs, we typically schedule within 3–5 business days. For full installations, scheduling is 1–3 weeks depending on season and current project load. Storm damage jobs receive priority scheduling — we maintain emergency capacity for active storm situations.
